(00:34): Hey there, gang. Welcome to find your fear so glad you were here. Today's chat. You're continuing the series, the wilderness, and we're going to dive into the promises of God and how to get through the middle of the journeys we are on. And the really hard part of being in the wilderness, which is our obedience and the everyday courage it takes and having complete faith in the plan. But before we dive in, I pray that you will join our set free book club that is actually currently going on right now. I know so many of you have snagged your copy and read the message of set free on Amazon. But now we're going to be doing the work together and digging a little bit deeper in the book club for the next six weeks, it's going to be open six weeks of coaching and gathering and all you need is a book.

(01:13): And so be sure to join us in the set free book club, which is on Facebook. And if this is your first time popping in, you know, we were talking about how so often opportunities pop up promises are made doors open. Yet we miss them, or we fight them or ignore what God is doing in our life. We get in the way of things and what God has planned for us. And things get postponed or delayed as a result of our beliefs and mindsets actions. Now, I always say with that being said, we all know and understand the power and God's perfect timing. We get that. But sometimes we need to move aside to allow things to work. We get in the way. And so over the next few weeks, we are being intentional and carving out time in our day so that we can gain some clarity, how we can get out of our own way and discover how we can live a life with freedom.

(02:06): And so I got to thinking here how everything in life is a lesson. Do you agree? I mean, we learn, it's a teaching moment. Everything in our life is a teaching moment. We learn, we grow, we fall short, we make mistakes. We win, we celebrate, we mess up some more, right? We learn to overcome everything is a lesson. And I know that is what Robin I've always told her kids. Everything is a teaching moment. Everything is a lesson. What can we learn? I mean, we can learn what to do. We can learn what works, what doesn't work, what not to do. You know, I know I love when people share with me what works or a system that is super efficient, that's going to save me time or maybe money, or maybe it's a little bit more safe or it helps get us on the path to success a bit faster.

(03:00): It's like, show me what works and I'm going to do it. You know, I'm a big survivor fan have been for 20 years, just a little tidbit about me. I mean, it's crazy that it's actually even been out that long. I love it so much that I've actually even applied five times to be a competitor on the show, but that's a whole entire different story. But if you've watched the show, if you've watched any episode and when, when the competitors, if they're doing a team puzzle challenge or some sort of team effort work in, in the, in the ocean or the water or something, that's gonna take a little bit of like masterminding, you know, or an individual challenge. I mean, the competitors think about this. The competitors actually watch others to help them to give them an advantage. They check out what others are doing if it worked, or if it didn't, it's like that with our kids too, our younger ones are seeing and watching what works for their older siblings or what doesn't work.

(03:58): And hopefully they get the hint as to what works and what doesn't okay, what works best for them. And I know we talk about keeping our blinders on. Don't compare yourself to others, quit looking side to side, but what we can learn from others can actually be a game changer. I believe we can learn so much. And, and what's almost even more powerful are the lessons on what not to do. Tell me, or show me what doesn't work. And I can bet you that I'll make sure that that's probably what I'm not doing. And here we are in this wilderness series where we may be feeling stuck or in the middle of our journey, feeling like we're not making any headway, we're on a treadmill to nowhere. We're postponing our call and purpose in life. And there's a lesson here. I want us to pause for a moment and really kind of take an inward look, there's a lesson that's going on right here in front of us.

(04:50): And I know we've been talking about the Israelites these past few weeks, remember them, right? All their mistakes, their delays, you know, their wilderness journey. It's going to be able to save us some time. It might even actually cut off a few years or maybe even 40 years of walking in circles with no progress. We're going to learn from them. They're going to teach us what not to do. So I want you to open your hearts, your eyes and ears for this one, because I tell you what, ladies, God has a plan for each of us, a life that he has envisioned or has planned out, mapped out from before he ever formed us. And then he created us and many equipped us with everything that we would need to step into this life that he made us for. His plan is good. It's complete.

(05:34): It's going to be absolutely amazing. But here's the thing. The path is always ours to choose or not. We call that free will guys. We call that having the ability to choose. We have been given a mind to think and to make choices. And so while we're all guaranteed that God has this amazing, awesome, good plan for our lives. We're not guaranteed that we're actually going to follow it. Now, I don't know about you, but I may have wasted some time in my life fighting and resisting that plan, that control. I don't want to say freak, but I'm, I'm a recovering addict. Okay. When it comes to control, I resisted that plan and I wanted it to be my plan. And we may be wasting time on a path that God can't breed on, or he can't just, he just simply can't bless. And we may be creating obstacles for ourselves.

(06:28): Unneeded obstacles are being stuck, actually may be of our own doing it's all. Self-induced now think about that for a moment. Is that the case of what's going on in your life right now? It's the same thing. It runs like parallel is the exact same thing. In terms of the story. When it comes to the Israelites, they are God's people just like we are. He cared about them, just like he cares about us. These were people who God had actually personally rescued from slavery in Egypt and set free. He had this awesome plan, this beautiful plan and a great destination in mind for them. It's the promised land. He promised them land flowing with milk and honey. And it was all waiting for them right there on the other side. And God had given them this great leader, right? Moses and Moses just parted the red sea with a stick.

(07:18): And he saved them from the army that was hunting them down. So they had proof. They had proof. They saw it right in front of them. They had proof that God was with them. And for them on this journey, now this journey was supposed to be 11 days. They had this 11 day journey through this desert to their promised land. 11 days is what it would have taken them if they would've just trusted God and kept moving forward. But they didn't. Does that sound familiar? Instead of 11 days in the desert, they got stuck there for 40 years, 40 years, they wandered around aimlessly miserable in this place that they didn't want to be. And in a place that they were never meant to stay this entire generation an entire generation. How did this happen? I mean, they died in the desert. How did this happen?

(08:13): How did they turn this 11 day journey into 40 years of wondering now, I don't know about you, but I don't want my life to be wandering around dying before God's plan a mission for me to take place, right? We, we got alarm from this, so we don't make the same mistake. I don't want to miss this promised land in my own life. I don't want to miss God's plan that he has for me. I don't want you to miss what God has for you. I don't want to wander and get stuck or stay stuck. So why, why did this happen to them? What caused this? And I bet you, if you can really think and reflect and take that inward look, you could probably guess what it, and it was fear. This one thing, fear, the fear of the opposition, the fear of the failure, fear of the unknown fear that they weren't good enough fear that God would want to take care of them, right?

(09:10): This is what kept them stuck and caused them to miss out. This is what caused this entire generation to miss what God had available for them. It was fear and the same is going to happen to you. And I, and I tell you what, this is what not to do. We are not to be afraid. We are not to be faith fearful. And so this land that the Israelites wanted to go to was Canon, right? And it was only 11 days away, but it was the land of the unknown Moses, right? He was this wise man. He was sent out and this is, this is their thought process. They're like, okay, I'm going to send out some spice here. I'm going to see what this land is all about. So he sent 12 leaders ahead of the crowd, basically these spies, right? To see kind of what they were up against.

(09:57): What is this land all about? And so how hard would it be for them to get to Canon? And what were the people like? That's what they wanted to identify. They wanted the answers before. And so for 40 days, these 12 men stocked out that city and they, they checked it out, right? And they realized that this place was way better than where they currently were better than the desert. But there were obstacles. They would have to actually fight to get what they wanted and that it wouldn't be easy. Now think about this guys. Of course, it wouldn't be easy. We talked about this last week, God calls on us to move, to take action, to lean in, to fight, to overcome. It's never going to be easy. So after 40 days, these 12 liters returned and they come back to Moses. Now get this 10 of them said it was impossible that there was no way these people were giants.

(10:57): They were so big. There's no way we can't compare. There's no way that we could get through. But two of the spies, Joshua and Caleb said, let's go, come on, let's take possession of the land. We should be more than able to conquer it. We got this. So 10 said, Nope, not even gonna try it. It's too scary. And too said, let's go. 10 were filled with fear. Two were filled with courage. Now, if the majority were filled with fear, what can we do? What can we do when the majority is filled with fear and you have to go against the grain, we have to choose to think differently. 10 could only see the obstacles ahead. You could probably think of some people in your life that are like that. You might even put yourself in that category. What do you focus on? What do you think about, how do you approach those things?

(11:52): 10 could only see the obstacles ahead and to remembered what God had just done at the red sea. What would you have said if you were faced up against that? 10 said no way two said we got this. How would you approach the situation? What would you have said? How do you view obstacles? The challenges, the missions. Do you look at things as being impossible? If it gets a little bit shy, is it just difficult, but is it worth the fight? Are you unable or able? Because God is on your side. Are you ruled by fear or filled with courage deep down? Do you really believe God has for you and has good things planned for you? Or do you still battle with the thinking that he's against you? And at any moment, he's going to rip the rug out from underneath you guys in fear of the defeat that could happen.

(12:47): The Israelites chose not to go and take the land. God had promise them. They chose not to go the lane. And that has been available to them only 11 days away from that 11 days from the promised land. Instead I said, not only did they extend yeah. The, and, and delayed the process by sending spies for 40 days, they wandered around in the desert for 40 years, an entire generation died. It was a failure to remember what God had already done for them. And a fear of the future that left them stuck fear of the unknown. And they sat in a desert and complained about how bad it was while the entire time they had the power to walk right out of it. And I get it. Since you're listening to this, I have to ask you if you were sitting in a bad place and too afraid to do anything about it, hasn't God proven himself to you in the past.

(13:43): I'm going to answer that question for you. Of course he has. He's already provided for you and he's already been there for you guys. If you're breathing, you are here, you're showing up, you have a heartbeat. I'm going to place bets that he's probably taking care of you up until this point. And he's going to continue to do so. God has always brought you out and have kept you alive. So why would you sit in this miserable place, settling for less than God's best just watching your life, pass you by? Why would you ever do that? Fear? I have watched people. I have watched people for the last year and a half live in fear. And, and this doesn't even have anything to do. You know, when, when it comes to COVID or what side you are on politically or with the shots or masks?

(14:32): No mask. Yes. Masks, you know, whatever it is I have, and myself included have fallen to the fear at one point or more I life, but let's take it a step one step further. What about the fear you have when it comes to your businesses, the marriage, your kids, your parenting, your maybe it's a shift in careers going after a dream, doing something different, being different, whatever it may be. Maybe so many of us have been living in fear in one way or another. I'm just here to kind of wait, wait. Yup. And I get it. You're afraid. And that is completely normal. It's human nature. 10 out of 12. People are going to tell you it's impossible. They're going to try to shut you down. Keep you playing small. But two will tell you that you're more than able to conquer whatever it is that you want to fight for.

(15:23): You only need two people and I'm telling you, one is me. I'm telling you today. I have no doubt that you can move forward. You can get out of all of this. You can step into a life available to you. And I'm not going to promise you. It's going to be easy, but I will promise you that it's going to be worth it. And so me, I'm the one that's telling you, you're able to conquer this. So my question is who who's the second? Is it your husband or not? Not your boss, not your BFF. Everyone is doubting you. You're probably sitting there thinking there's no idea. I don't know anyone. They're all questioning me. Shaming me, guilty, me making me now. Everything is, everyone seemed to be against you. Here's some truth for you today. They're not against you guys. The people you love hold you back and tell you, you can't, or they disagree with you because they're trying to protect you.

(16:12): You're either afraid you're going to fail. And they don't. Of course, they don't want you to see that. Or they're afraid that you're going to succeed with all your newfound success. And then you might not need them anymore. They're just afraid. And they're going to project that fear on you. So I'm going to be really bold and strong. Yeah. And I say this, you can do this. You can move forward and so much more available to you. You don't have to stay the same. You don't have to walk in circles. You can walk right out of this, that roundabout we're on ice. There's an exit. We just need to choose to veer off and take the exit. But more importantly than my voice, much more important. Actually, you need to hear the second voice that tells you to move forward and conquer this. And guys, that is the Lord.

(16:55): That is our goal. God, he says, have I not commanded you be strong and courageous, right? Be frightened and do not be dismayed for the Lord. Your God is with you. Wherever you go. I will not fear. What can man do to me, right? For God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of power and love and self control. He will not leave you or forsake you ladies. Don't let fear stop. You go afraid. If you have to just make sure you go show up, do it anyway, stands strong firm in your faith. Feel the fear, and then start walking. Anyway. God is for you. And he is with you. He has a great plan for your life and you can't just wander around in circles and expect to live it. It's not going to be easy, but you have an enemy. Who's going to constantly try to defeat you and keep you stuck.

(17:42): You're going to have to use every ounce of your courage. You have. And remember that you are more than able to conquer this. You've got on your side. Here are a couple of questions that I want you to really reflect on this week. What is working in your life? What's not working right now. Do you need a new system? Do you operate out of fear or courage? Take a deep dive. What obstacles and challenges are you currently facing? How do you view them? Will you choose to move forward or will you choose to stay stuck? Who are you listening to? What voice are you taking to heart? And what step forward will you choose to take today? Guys? I am so glad that you were here. I get fired up about all of this stuff. I want you to remind you that my books that free is available on Amazon.
