Marquel: Hey, what's up, my friend? Marquel Russell here. Welcome to this brand new episode of the School of Client Attraction. [01:02.5]
In this episode, I want to share with you the one-sentence persuasion formula. Now, persuasion is what drives your marketing and your sales results. That's the root of all of it. I'm all about ethical persuasion, not selling people stuff that they don't need and that's not of value to them, so keep that in mind.
If you're the type of person who sells people stuff that don't actually help them and you don't lead with integrity and you just want to make money, please, by all means, get off of this episode right now, and even unsubscribe or unfollowed, all that good stuff, right, because we don't want to be connected to people that. However, if you're somebody who has something positive that actually helps people and helps people get results, please stick around because it's going to be very, very, very, very powerful.
Now, let me say this. I did not come up with the one-sentence persuasion formula. This is from this guy named Blair Warren, but I want to break this down because it's extremely powerful. It's probably one of the most powerful concepts when it comes to persuasion and I’ve read a lot of stuff on persuasion.
Let me read it to you. Number one, it says:
“People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions, and help them throw rocks at their enemies.” [02:03.0]
People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions, and help them throw rocks at their enemies. I'm going to give you some examples of how you see this played out in the marketplace, and on multiple different levels, right?
Number one, people do anything for who encouraged their dreams. It’s telling them. That’s simple, telling people, You can do this. You can be positive. I mean, you can do this. You're capable. All that good stuff, right? That's pretty straightforward.
Justify their failures. Have you ever seen somebody in the marketing thing when they say, I noticed you're XYZ, but it's not your fault? That's justifying their failures, right? Now, is that ethical? It depends on who's saying it and if they're saying it from a genuine place, but justifying their failures.
Number three, allay their fears, so helping them feel comfortable about their fears or helping them overcome them and all that good stuff, right? [02:54.5]
Next, confirm their suspicions. For us, here's the one way we do it. A lot of people are like, It seems like these gurus, the marketing gurus, always leave stuff out and they only give us a part of the picture. That's true. We confirm the suspicions of our audience because we let them know, yeah, this stuff they're teaching you is B.S. Right? They are leaving a lot of stuff out. They do make money by keeping you confused. You're not crazy. It's actually not your fault. They just haven't given you the whole piece. Yeah, you’ve got pieces of the puzzle. It's not because you aren't capable of success. You just haven't been shown how to do it the right way and we do that from a genuine place because it's absolutely real because I’ve gone through it. Right?
Then, help them throw rocks at our enemies. For us, I don't really like it when people call me a “guru” and when you see people say I'm an influencer and I'm a guru. That's all cool, no shade to that, but it’s like that's not our thing. Some people take the “guru on the mountain” approach. I'm more of a guy that figured some stuff out. Now I came back to share it with the people. So, that’s taking a completely different approach. Not saying either way is right or wrong. That's just kind of our approach, so it’s like, yeah, there are some things that people aren't sharing. Here's what I’ve found. [04:06.3]
That's that whole process. Very, very powerful concept. I want you to check it out. You can even get the book if you want, but even if you just take that, you don't have to get the book, just take that, unpack it, see how you can apply that to your business. Very, very, very, very powerful concept.
