You're listening to “The School of Client Attraction.” Marquel Russell is the founder of Client Attraction University, a marketing consultancy helping you attract clients on autopilot and scale your business while working 50% less.

Quick disclaimer: a side effect of listening to the show is more clients, more profits, more freedom, and it's more impact in your business. Now, here's your host, Marquel Russell.

Marquel: Hey, what's up, my friend? Marquel Russell, and welcome to this brand new episode of the School of Client Attraction. In today's episode, I'm explaining to you why the advice, charge your worth, is total B.S.

Now, you may be thinking, Marquel, okay, I know. I thought you were the high-ticket guy. You always talk about selling high-ticket charges, increasing your prices and so forth and so on. I’d say yes, but you've never heard me really say charge your worth. Here's why. And if I have said that, I misspoke because let me explain what I mean. [00:57.8]

Think about it. Even if you charge, let's say you’ve got a program or a service and you charge $10,000 or $25,000 or $5,000 an hour or whatever, are you really charging your worth? Because think about it. Money isn't even really real.

I was reading something and watching something the other day and it basically said only about 15% of actual money is in print. Everything else is pretty much digitized. When you see your money in your bank account, it's really not even there, right? A lot of it is just digitized.

That shows you that money isn't even real. Money doesn't even really hold any real value unless it's the value that we put on that money, because it's not on a gold standard or nothing like that. When you say you're going to charge a piece of paper and you're going to equate that to your value, I think that's total B.S., because the paper only holds the amount of value that we put on it. [01:50.5]

You as a human being, you, somebody as a human being, who has invested a certain amount of time, a certain amount of money, a certain amount of effort, certain amount of tears or pain or whatever, to develop the skill set that you have, you should charge what you feel like you should be charging, but don't think that, okay, I'm going to charge them 15,000 because that's my worth, because you're actually way more valuable than that.

Even if you charge $100,000 for an eight-week program, you are still more valuable than that, and if your stuff is good, 30 years from now, even if you charge $100,000, 30 years from now, the person who bought that for $100,000, if they implement it, 30 years from now, I'm pretty sure what they gained from it will be infinitely more than 100,000.

So, when you're thinking about pricing, when you're thinking about your offers, when you think about selling, we think about things of that nature, and this will also help you easily increase your prices because you know that this little paper doesn't really hold any value unless it’s the value that we put onto it. But your skillset, you, your time, all of that, which is limited, right? [02:59.0]

And because you're limited and there’s less of you than there are of them, and them being the clients, you can actually charge whatever you want. But don't put it into the context of charging your worth because you're infinitely more valuable than this piece of paper, regardless of what you charge. Okay?
