Marquel: Hey, what’s up, my friend? Marquel Russell here. Welcome to this brand new episode of The School of Client Attraction podcast.

So, this topic is going to … I'm glad you listened to it, first of all, number one, mainly because it may not come off as a marketing client attraction topic, because we're going to be talking about three values that will keep anybody motivated. But in reality, if you tie, if you're clear on your values and you tie your values into your marketing, that actually makes you more magnetic for your ideal clients because your ideal clients value, typically value the same exact things you value, right? [01:07.1]

So, let me give you an example. Myself, and many people aren't clear on their values, so if you're not clear on your values, don't feel bad. It ain't no shade to you or nothing. But take some time and really sit down and be like, What are my values? And really get them down on paper and get clear on them.

For me, my top three values are family, freedom and growth. So, it's family, freedom and growth, in no particular order and nothing, but the top three are family, freedom and growth. Of course, I love my family, kids, wife, even people who may not be my blood family. If we're friends, then we're tight. Yeah, I consider them family as well. I got a lot of bros. So, it's like that’s family to me, even if we're not blood. So, some of your people who aren't blood can be tighter, people who aren't necessarily your blood family, right, so you know what I'm talking about. So, number one is family, community, things of that nature. That's number one.

Number two—freedom. That's why I’ve always been an entrepreneur. Even when I was a child, I was always interested in entrepreneurship because I never liked people telling me what to do. I've always been kind of rebellious and I never wanted people to put the cap on my income and stuff like that. [02:11.6]

So, I enjoy freedom, right? That's a value of mine. I'm willing to go hard to maintain my freedom. I'm not willing to sacrifice freedom for anything. Can anybody pay me any amount of money to go work a job where I’ve got to be doing something or I’ve got to be somewhere when they want me to be there and I’ve got to do something when they want me to do it, or I’ve got to ask for permission? And, again, this ain't no shade to nobody if you work a job. That's not what I'm saying. I'm telling you my values, right?

Some people’a values are security, right? They want to make sure they're secure. Everything is saved, things of that nature. There's nothing wrong with that, but mine is more I would sacrifice security for freedom. Does that make sense? You want to be clear on that because now you can weave all that into your marketing. So, that's number two.

And then, number three—growth. I'm always huge on growth. My library is crazy. I'm always ordering with my wifey like, Why are you ordering more books? It's like I’ve got books coming in all the time because I'm obsessed with personal growth, personal and business growth, learning about this stuff. [03:09.2]

I'm absolutely obsessed with it. Listening to podcasts, going to events, hiring mentors and coaches, reading books, listening to audio books. It's crazy. I can't get through information fast enough because I’ve got so much that I want to consume and so much to learn because I love teaching, and when you teach, you grow. Right?

And let me just be clear. Just listening to information, just consuming information is not growth. Number one, you’ve got to implement it. It's three levels of learning. Number one is consumption. Number two is implementation, and then three is teaching it. Right, when you're teaching, you’re also learning, so you're growing by teaching. I'm growing by implementing and, of course, I'm growing by consuming, right? And then you also grow by, of course, doing things that's uncomfortable and you're kind of stepping out into the unknown. All that's going to make you grow, doing things that you normally don't do on a daily basis.

All right, so that's what I want to talk about today. Those are my three values that absolutely I feel keep anyone motivated, especially depending on who the person is, but typically entrepreneurs, for sure. [04:07.3]

But I want you to get clear on what are your top three values, and then begin to weave that into everything you do. So, if you watch any of my social media, you see that I like my kids and we like traveling. I have kids. I have a wife. You see me posting about books and what I'm learning, things of that nature. You see me kind of weave all of that into my emails, my marketing and podcast episodes. I have social media posts, literally my presentations when I speak at events, virtual events or whatever.

All that stuff is weaved into values and people connect with those values, and they say, I kind of like this person because we're alike. And if you weave that into you marketing, I can guarantee you, you're going to see how it has a massive impact.
