Get a load of this,

Last week I wrote to tell you about my dad making me read the encyclopedia as a kid.

And I got an interesting response I want to share with you.

Here's how it went down:

Him: “Do you always send your eMails from Producer Jonathan?”

Me: “Whenever I mail my house list it comes from Producer Jonathan”

Him: “At risk of being laughed at (not sure if you do the same thing Ben does.) I just wanted to share that Producer Jonathan doesn't really vibe with me. It makes your email lose the personal touch.”

>>> At this point in the conversation I would usually tell a person to screw off.

But, the guy is a member of a forum that I like to hang out in and he's got a high “forum score” – meaning he's been involved in tons of conversations in that forum.

So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and continued listening to his whining.

Me: “Thanks man – the “Producer Jonathan” isn't a name I picked. It was given to me by Ben and Dan and it's now a thing.

You're probably not my target market or else you would know the back story and it would make sense.

It's how I can tell who is an insider.

As for the personal touch – I write 7 days per week, that's how I get personal.

It looks like the “Producer Jonathan” is a thing because it's putting food on the table.”

Him: “Is there a connection I can make on your website?

Anyways? No bad feelings.

I usually write to the guys from <Forum Name> when I have some feedback. Probably won't be bothering you too much since you know what your doing.”

>>> This is where I turned things around and started asking him questions about his business.

I'll spare you the details, but after a few rounds I found out he's got no one on his email list, he's not emailing daily, he's not making any money, and he's got a series of failed websites.

This guy couldn't write his way out of a paper bag yet he sees fit to give me advice on how I should run my business and write my copy.

Worse…

He's out there in forum world spewing his opinion all over the unsuspecting public.

That's why I always say, “Everyone has an opinion and they usually stink.”

Watch who you're taking advice from – make sure they're walking the walk and aren't giving you sh*tty advice they made up based on their feelings.

That kinda stuff will put you outta business in a hurry.

Now to the point of this story.

In a couple of short weeks the first issue of my print newsletter: “Podcast Mogul” ships.

It's a huge double-issue packed with everything you need to find your listeners, find out what they're thinking, and launch your podcast to hungry listeners starved for what you're sharing.

And this ain't an opinion on how to do it.

These are battle proven tactics and strategies I've fine tuned over the last 7 years I've been podcasting.

Everything inside is exactly what I used to launch my last 10 shows to the tops of the charts in iTunes.
