And I can't help myself, it's in my nature.
In response to yesterday's note where I told you to forget about Flakebook ads and focus on your existing customers instead I got this response from a butt hurt subscriber:
"Really Jonathan, people on Facebook are flaky? You just lost me there. Thanks for all the information you've given me so far."
Let's look at the facts…
This person got onto my list from Flakebook back in March, has been consuming my daily wisdom for six months, and never purchased a thing.
Getting her off my list was the right thing to do.
Why? Because if she was serious about doing anything related to having a podcast or an online business she would have already bought something.
So I actually did us both a favor by "being rude" and saying mean things about Flakebook that hurt her feelings.
But that's not the point…
The real crime here is not how rude I am, but the fact that she couldn't see passed me making fun of social media to the real gold in my note – Focus on the customers you already have instead of chasing new people who may or may not buy from you.
Look, I'm not saying you have to buy all my stuff – especially if you're not ready.
But don't go getting all bent out of shape when I make a joke – because if it strikes a nerve, there may be some truth to it.
I'm not judging anyone – I'm merely making a point.
Anyways, now that's out of the way you should dig deep in your pocket, whip out your plastic and join me and your fellow Podcast Mogul's for next month's newsletter where I'll be showing you easy ways to get more email optins from your podcast. The cool part is even if you don't have a podcast you can still use these tips to get more email subscribers.
