Marquel: Hey, what’s up, my friend? Marquel Russell here. Welcome to this brand new episode of The School of Client Attraction. Extremely excited to have you here today.

So, what I want to get into today, I want to share with you, one of my virtual mentors, who I never, unfortunately, got the opportunity to meet, is the great Jim Rohn. About seven or eight years ago or so, Jim Rohn completely changed everything for me.

I was in the network marketing industry in this network marketing company and that was my first introduction to personal development, and the first CD that I got from Jim Rohn was called My First Year in Network Marketing and it was a total game changer. [01:04.0]

I was just literally obsessed with all of Jim Rohn's material. I don't think there’s a YouTube video out there that I haven't watched with Jim Rohn. I love the style. I love how he presented all that good stuff, right? I'm also listening to an audio book now that is called The Ultimate Jim Rohn Library and it’s great. You just listen to it over again. You can never really get tired of this stuff basically.

What I want to do in this episode is I want to give you three lessons from Jim Rohn that are going to make you an absolute client attraction machine. All right? So, let's go ahead and get into them.

Number one—one of Jim Ron's philosophies because he always said your philosophies correct your life, so one of the things was don't ask for things to get easier; ask for you to get better. Don't ask for things to get easier; ask for you to get better. I always tell individuals in entrepreneurship, the most valuable thing you can have is mental toughness.

So, things are going to get challenges. Your marketing campaigns might not go the way you want them to go. You might have an ad account get shut down. You may get some negative comments on your ads or whatever the case may be, whatever may happen, or you may have a bad month or whatever. But when things get challenging, you don't ask for things to get easier; ask for you to get better. Step up. That's number one. [02:12.7]

Number two, game changer—profits are better than wages. Profits are better than wages. That's huge because here's how that works for you as a business, as a business owner. Obviously, you're an entrepreneurial so you already understand profits are better than wages. How is this a game changer, though?

Here's how it is. Because most entrepreneurs, coaches and consultants specifically, are doing wage activities every day, right, instead of hiring it out to people that can pay the wages to, and they focus more on the stuff that brings in profit. And I'm guilty of it, right? Doing the busy stuff, focusing on wage stuff, wage activities, versus focusing on the profit activities.

So, what activities are you focused on every day that you can hire out for $5 or $10, or $20 or $30 a day or hour, or even $100 an hour or whatever, so you can be focused on the high-profit, high-volume things that really move the needle? Okay? That's number two. [03:07.0]

Number three—there are so many really, but this one I want to share. It is what he calls “never spending the whole dollar,” and that's what I teach my kids also. You never spend the whole dollar. He was like, you're going to see people who spend the whole dollar, go into the other side of town where things are bad. Right around you see people homeless and outside or whatever. He's like, those are the …. And, now, this may come off insensitive, but it was a great illustration that those are the people who spent the whole dollar.

He was like, when you make money, what you want to do is you want to do 10 … he called it 10-30-30-30. He said the first 10% goes to tithes or giving, right? That's the first 10%, and then 30 goes into investing; 30 goes into business; and 30 you keep for your pocket to have some money in your pocket. Right?

If you think that way, now you automatically see, Okay, this is how much money I have for advertising. So, now it's like every time you make money or you land a big-ticket client, you go out and splurge it or whatever the case may be, but now you have an allocated advertising budget that you can put back into the business and it will help you continue to go to business, go to revenue and attract more clients.
