Hi there. I'm Jill Allen and this is find your fierce, the show designed for women to discover your fierce, unlock and unstoppable mindset. Build unbreakable courage and completely transform how you show up every single day. Each week I will bring ideas, methods and strategies that will inspire you to step into your greatness and live life on purpose. Let's be fit, fierce and unstoppable.

(00:35): Hey there. Welcome to find your fierce. This is episode 30, And we're going to talk about why it is so important to discover your true self, but then to actually show up as the most authentic you here today. Authenticity truth. I mean, we all want more of that, right? Honesty, real people. I mean, there's so much freedom in those words. And I think in the people in my life where I want you guys to do the same, where your guard is down and you're just, you know, worry, there's no fear. There's no judgment just accepted for who you are. You know, the people you just connect with naturally where you can just be yourself. And I hope you have those people in your life. But I also want you to think on the flip side, think about those people that you have a mask on for, or put on a front. And I know we've all done that at some point, we all know people like that been guilty myself, but what about showing up in the world as who you are meant to be?

(01:29): Not the people we are seeing on social media right now in the cities with the protests, not the evil, the hate or the ugliness that is coming alongside this division that we have in our nation right now, all this chaos, it can bring out one of two things, more evil or more good. And I truly believe 100% that we are all meant for the good that this is the true, you know, holding back, no shame, but the fearless, the confident, the passionate, the goofy, funny, bold, courageous, strong, faithful, uplifting, creative, loving. What about kind joyful, compassionate you, because let me tell you, the world needs you, especially now of the billions of people on this planet. Only you can offer what only you have to give. So what is it that you are giving? And I don't know, you may feel like I was a few years ago.

(02:23): I feel a disconnect with who you are and with what your life looks like. And I, and I'll use this as an example, you know, here I was this rockstar mom of five on the outside business leader, have it all together all the time. But what I was really rocking out was a good front. This gorgeous mask I had on some would call a fake. As a matter of fact, I bet I have been called out a few times in my life, but I thought or believed I had this role to play for whatever reason, this role of perfection. We all know what it looks like, what it feels like you show the world one person, but you know, there is a one within waiting to come out and be seen being a hundred percent who you are at your highest level. Guys, let me tell you, this is your ticket to attracting the things you want most in your life.

(03:11): This is true for your marriage, your career, the relationships, your health, the list, the list can go on. I mean, it's also this magic formula. That's going to propel you to make a more powerful contribution to this world than you ever thought possible. And yes, I'm talking about you. Yes, you can make this powerful contribution. So, I mean, if you're holding back for any reason, if you feel stuck or afraid to speak up or feel like you have this lid over you and you are ready to break the chains that you've been holding you back from showing the world who you truly are, what you can give, how you can serve, then you're going to love this episode. And what I'm about to share with you, you are certainly here for a reason, but before we dive into the how tos I do want to differentiate what being true is what being authentic is and what it is not.

(03:59): Because like I said before, we've all been guilty of pretending to be people we're not in the past. You know, whether out of lack of fear or lack of self awareness or the desire, you know, to be accepted or love putting on this mask is sometimes that we feel is our only choice the problem is, or when it becomes an issue is when we have worn a mask for so long that we forget what's underneath. And we forget who we are. So what does it mean to be your true self? You know, the authentic self, the real self. I mean, it is the most honest aspect of who you are. So basically, or another words you're your true self is the most authentic version of you. All masks are off. Your true self is when you are at your most open vulnerable, and the fact that you are carefree, this is not the same as you searching for your true self or becoming something you're not, I mean, there's no need to chase any ideal, true self or trying to be more real or more genuine because I know chasing authenticity creates a lot of suffering too.

(05:06): We don't want to fall into that trap either. I mean, it's not us going out loudly expressing our opinions a hundred percent of the time without a filter. Like we are seeing a lot of today on social media or that you should be completely unapologetic and all that you do and what you say or how you treat people. I hope I'm making sense. Does that make sense? Being your true self is about being exactly who you are, whatever the heck that looks like, right? It's about understanding and accepting the fact that being flawed is perfectly fine. It's about embracing all the ugliness, the weirdness that the, if you want to call it defects that we have all the beauty and the gifts it's about working with your strengths and making peace with your weaknesses and not trying to be anyone else. Now, I want to touch base on the mask.

(05:57): Some situations require us to wear a mask. We just don't want to get lost in that. You know, we can still be in touch with our true self. As we do have roles, as we go throughout our day, think about this. We have roles we need to step into. If your true self loves being a PJ's, would you really show up to work in them or when you're working with the public? I mean, no, that we consciously, most people we consciously put on a friendly, extroverted and charming mask. And I understand that we cannot be a hundred percent authentic all the time on the outside. You know, we wouldn't be able to survive the world, but to know that life is fluid, but it's only when you lose touch with your true feelings and values or letting others dictate them for you is when we are being inauthentic.

(06:42): Right? So we have to draw the line somewhere and become super self-aware. We can still be in touch with our authentic, true self. Even when we're putting on a show or we're stepping into a role, I want to share with you a few stepping stones that I know that help us toward our truest and greatest self number one, know who you are in Christ, how God truly sees you. The fact that you are alone, no matter what, love yourself as God loves. I mean, think about this ladies. You are an amazing wife, mom, child, woman, very best friend. You are his daughter. And when you believe, and you know what, you know what you know, right? You will be the most radiant, light up the world around you, shine your most authentic brightest light to the world. You'll show up as the true you with a heart full of God's love.

(07:33): That is who you are first and foremost, by getting to know God, your creator, you embark on this journey of self discovery, who he truly created you to be. You will be able to connect with your wonderfulness, your unique talents, the gifts, the skills, the passions, the roles that you've been getting you become aligned with who you truly are, what has been placed in your soul. You don't worry about what others think or striving to become what others want you to become. I mean, there's no comparison. You are solely focused on pleasing God, not others. And let me tell you, no mask is required. He already knows everything. He knows everything about you, that you are embracing this plan that God has for you. It's already been mapped out that you are on your own train track, right? With your own designated controls, the stops and speed settings.

(08:29): So we can be thankful for that. We need to enjoy that ride. And we can because you know who you are and that your identity lies with Christ to give yourself permission, to accept who you are through healing and forgiveness. We need to come clean to ourself and own up to who we really are. All the ugly, the, or even the shape, one uncomfortable parts. The imperfections, the past the hurts. I know we've all been guilty of sin, or we've been on the other side of it. You know, we need to stop pretending or holding back because of the box that we put ourselves in all these emotions, all our feelings need to emerge, and we need to embrace the vulnerability to inner critic that we all have. It needs to go. That enemy's voice. It needs to be shut down and replaced with compassion and truth. The inspiration and love that God provides. We need to refuse, draw the line in the sand to give power to the bully and the negativity. So we can finally be free. Give yourself, I encourage you to give yourself the freedom to be. You let go of the comparisons, the labels, the status,

(09:37): The criticisms, the cynicism. It's Going to allow you to accept all that you are for yourself through healing and forgiveness. And I get it. It's a challenge. It's, it's something that we have to be able to surrender and let go. There's a lot of us that need to heal healing. I know is the secret to having full access, to true freedom. You know, we need to be able to forgive and accept all of our experiences so we can let go of all the negativity that is built up from a lifetime and all that buildup residue in our heart. When that is all healed and forgiven, we thrive. We will be catapulted launched no more holding back that hard heart that we have had will be softened. And we will be able to show up as our greatest true self and number three, make changes and commit. When we decide that we want to grow.

(10:29): When we want to change, when we want to Uplevel and have true freedom with who we are created to be, it's going to take some daily focus, intention to work. We might have been wearing this mask for so long. Know that it's going to take time. Making changes to allow your inner self, to show through. It is a must getting yourself in everything around you to reflect what you are truly feeling reinforces the freedom to express your true self. So I encourage you empower yourself to make the necessary changes. These changes can range from physical appearance level of fitness, to your lifestyle, from your relationships to your career. To understand that it is a process and a journey worth being on that. We need to commit to spending time and investing in ourselves. Whether we meditate and surrender daily, know that it is a game changer.

(11:20): Imagine the stress being anxiety of trying to be someone you are not all gone. The mask not needing picked up and put on. What about taking care of your body? Think about it. Our body is a miracle and without it, we are out of the game of life altogether. So maybe a change to focus on our health is we are designed to move and function at such a high level. When we feel ourselves with healthy nutrition, get enough hours of sleep, seven to eight hours a night. Ladies, we're going to thrive. That is part of being the true you. When we are firing on all cylinders, we're going to show up firing too. So committing to your choices and decisions. It reinforces the values and worth behind who you are. It validates the belief and trust that you have for yourself for the Lord, especially once that doubt and the enemy and the uncertainty creeps in.

(12:12): It helps you to trust your initial choice and decision of becoming your true self and living as your true self, making it easier to move forward and adjust to that true. You. So let's recap here, know who you are through Christ. Your identity is in him. Love yourself as he does no masks required to. We need to dig deep, be able to heal and forgive. So we can bust through that glass lid that has been over us for way too long and three commit to make the needed changes in our life. So your true self can actualize simply being you at your best will inspire everyone around you and serve in such a powerful way to the greater good, like I mentioned before, our world needs you right now.
