Had a guy apply to work with me the other day.
He already had a podcast and a business that was doing OK.
When I asked him how his podcast fed his business he said it didn't.
Out of 60+ episodes he could track 1-2 clients from it.
I understood what he was trying to do.
I had ideas on how we could make it work using our Direct Response Podcasting™ framework.
So I made him an offer to work with us.
He was good to go until he realized that I would require him to burn his existing podcast to the ground so he'd have a fresh start.
He didn't like that.
He wanted to keep his old show.
The one he'd been doing for over a year with almost no results.

That's insane.

That's why I'm leery of working with people who already have a show.
Sometimes they form a weird emotional attachment to it.

A podcast show isn't your kid.
You won't get in trouble for abandoning it.
And, in many cases you'll be better off for leaving it behind.
