Etsy traffic fluctuates.
It’s not like having a personal website where you can control content and SEO settings, but it’s a great starting point to get some exposure for your jewelry brand!
Maybe you noticed, they’re using location in their SEO now, so local shops get featured when you search.
Which is super great for finding new, cool locally made products…but if you’re not in a big city you might notice a dip in your shop visits.
There’s really nothing you can do about changes like these…
So instead of letting this get you down, let’s focus on adapting and keeping up with the trends and times!
Flexibility is the name of the game, m’dear!
Being on the platform requires you to be challenged.
So having solution-minded thinking is how to win at Esty!
As a special treat, I’ve invited Amber Harder of www.bizmindedmommy.com to be on the show with me today!
My friend referred me to her and I have to say, Amber is a hoot!
She was born and raised in Hawaii, started and sold over 8 businesses and is a self-proclaimed mega analytical dork. She lives for profits and loves finding them all over the world.
Now, she stumbled upon Esty and loves helping other moms (and you) boost Esty sales.
Let’s dive in!
Observe Your Behavior
Start a journal about you. Making notes on what you’re doing throughout the day helps you keep track of what’s working and what you want to change.
You have the power to control your jewelry business, it belongs to you! Finding the things that trip you up (pricing your jewelry, writing emails, etc.) helps your mind focus on what’s important.
Listen to the episode to hear Amber’s funny + unique life-changing solution!
Customize Your Listing
Using the same background or picture style as everyone else doesn’t help you stand out. Rather than doing what everyone else is doing, find something that emphasizes your unique jewelry collection!
Pictures, descriptions, and reviews are so important to convince your customers you’re the perfect choice!
Creep on your Competition
Knowing what other shops are doing helps you understand what you can do to stand out. You need to understand what you’re up against.
You don’t need to steal anything or copy them word for word. Researching what’s working for them is totally ethical. Learning from them and viewing them as a mentor is a mindset shift that will help your Etsy shop in the long run!
It feels natural to follow the pack.
Your shop should be professional and inviting, like everyone else’s!
But adding a little customization and personal flair is how you set yourself apart!
xo, Tracy
