I'm feeling froggy today so I decided to crush some lies you've been hearing about iTunes.
First up is the “Launch with ___ shows” lie.
You can fill in the blank with anything from 3 to 18 shows – I've heard them all and I'm sure you have to. They tell you to have a ton of shows loaded up on launch day if you plan on hitting the top of the charts.
The reason this works is because they're hacking one of the four criteria you need to get top rankings in iTunes.
The problem with this is the massive amount of work it takes to create one show. If you fall for this lie you're going to be recording tons of shows before you launch which will make it much harder for you to get your show inside iTunes and in people's ears – where it belongs.
Inside the next Podcast Mogul newsletter you'll get a case study that proves this theory is an utter and complete lie. And I'll even show you why people think this works and how you can completely avoid it and still get on top of the charts.
