Bob was growing a coaching business and decided to book speaking gigs to fill his pipeline.
He was a good talker, people really liked him, and he began getting more and more gigs.
Before he knew it, he was traveling all across the country speaking to audiences as big as 300 people.
At first it was fun hopping on a plane and waking up in a new city each day.
Plus the leads he got at these events were pretty good.
But after a while it started having a negative effect on him.
He spent more time in airports than he did at home.
He didn't have time to go to the gym, he was out of shape, and he was getting fat from all the drinking and junk food he was eating on the road.
After a while he started to do the math.
It took him one day to travel to an event, he'd spend one day at the event, the next day he would travel back home, and the day after he'd be burnt out and useless.
He'd lose four days out of each week to get in front of 300 people that might be a good fit for his business.
Out of those all those people he might get four or five good leads and close one coaching client each month.
The toll it was taking on his health wasn't worth it.
That's when he went looking for a better way to reach more people.
And he decided he'd give podcasting a shot.
We started working together in 2013 and in his first month he got 1,478 downloads.
By his second month he got 3,440 downloads.
And after 12 months on the air he racked up a whopping 48,852 downloads – which means he was averaging 939 downloads per week.
The crazy part is,
He never had to leave his house, he had no travel time, and he only invested around 2 hours per month into his show.
