“When are you going to take a break? Me and your son would like to hang out with you. You're working too hard.”
Those are the words from the sweet lips of my cupcake last week.
At the moment you're reading this I'm in the process of making a lifelong dream a reality.
When I was 18 I got a job working as an electrician's apprentice.
One of my first projects was building condos on the beach in Ponce Inlet Florida.
I used to think it was awesome to be at the beach every day.
Sometimes during lunch I would sit at the back of the building with my legs dangling off the edge eating my sammich staring out at the ocean saying to myself, “One day I'm going to live here.”
I was only bringing home $183 bucks per week, so the dream didn't seem real at the time.
Fast forward 22 years and it's finally happening.
No, I didn't buy a condo on the beach (not yet at least)
But I am sampling the lifestyle by living in Ponce Inlet for a month with my family.
Chances are while you're reading this I'm staring out at the Atlantic Ocean thanking my lucky stars for the awesome life I've got.
Anyways, back to Cupcake telling me I'm working too hard.
I wanted to enjoy my first few days at the beach without worrying about work stuff.
So I prepared in advance to be able to do that.
It's sort of like what I do at The Podcast Factory with my clients.
When you come in, we help you launch with a vault of content so you're at least a couple of months ahead.
Then we put you on production schedule that only takes around 2 hours per month to keep things going.
Most of our clients appreciate this schedule.
Especially the ones that have tried podcasting before and found it to be a lot of work.
This helps them keep their creativity up when they record and eliminates almost all of the headaches and pressure that usually come with having your own podcast show.
