We weren’t getting any younger and we were afraid to be “old parents.”
What could be taking so long?
We completed all the prep work for our adoption in record time. While most people take six months or a year, it only took us three months to get everything done and approved.
The waiting was the hardest part.
They said they were working on matching us with the perfect kid. And we were beginning to have doubts about the process when we saw other people being matched before us.
It was extremely difficult for cupcake too. It got to the point where asking her about the adoption became a sore subject and our friends were walking on eggshells around her.
But we finally got matched after 2 long years of waiting, and you know what?
This kiddo is perfect for us. He’s hairy and independent like his Dad. And he’s got a sweet face like his Mom.
It feels like he’s the right kid for us and I’m happy they matched him with us because he’s gonna fit right in.
