“But the reason I don't call it a “pitch” is because it's not meant to close the sale. It's meant to arouse curiosity and bond with your best prospect and you do that by sharing your struggle.” – Kevin Rogers
Interview Highlights:
Kevin: I love an action taker, man, and so advice is easy to come by but when somebody grabs it and puts it into action, it's always exciting
Jonathan: Can you explain the 60-second sales hook?
Kevin: It comes from the melding of the two worlds we're talking about here: standup comedy and copywriting.
I took a joke formula that I used in my act and a lot of comics use and turned it into what I call a “sales hook” which is essentially a very short sales pitch.
But the reason I don't call it a “pitch” is because it's not meant to close the sale. It's meant to arouse curiosity and bond with your best prospect and you do that by sharing your struggle.
