Get this,
Last week a guy applied to work with me.
His list of credentials included: D.J. + Speaker + Cannabis Professional + Activist.
Pretty eclectic mix, huh?
I knew he wasn't a fit for what we do here at The Podcast Factory,
But I called him anyway.
I figured I might be able to answer a question or two in between calls.
Right from the beginning he was hostile when I asked him about his business and his goals.
At one point he even yelled at me saying, “Why are you asking all these questions?”
I chuckled.
Figured he might be suffering from PTSD (or something)
When I finally got to the bottom of it, he wanted to know how to turn a podcast into a business.
And I gave him my most honest answer…
“I have no clue how to turn a podcast into a business. The people I work with generally have a business already and are looking for a way to leverage podcasting to GROW their business.”
He was angry.
He yelled, “Thanks for nothing.”
Then hung up on me.
I wasn't mad at him.
He didn't know any better.
He failed to realize I was giving him good advice from years of hard earned experience.
And this guy isn't alone.
There are tons of people in this world who don't realize their own mindset is what's holding them back.
