Marquel: Hey, what’s up, my friend? Marquel Russell here, and welcome to this brand new episode of The School of Client Attraction and I'm extremely excited to have you here.

In this episode, I wanted to talk about paid advertising and Facebook ads. Not necessarily Facebook advertising, but just paid ads in general. A lot of times I think people jumped the gun when it comes to paid advertising.

I'm going tell you something right now. If somebody's selling paid ad courses or traffic courses in general, people love traffic, getting traffic. They don't necessarily love getting traffic. They love learning about getting traffic, right? Because a lot of people buy a lot of traffic courses, but never actually start implementing the stuff to get any traffic. [01:07.6]

I'm going to tell you something crazy. A lot of people buy a Facebook ad course to learn Facebook ads and they never launched a Facebook ad. When it comes down to launch the ad, they never even launch the ad. Right? Instead of investing this money into ads, they would rather go out and go to an event or buy another course or do something else versus paying money for that. That's not what it's absolutely about, but I just want to say traffic and lead generation is a buzz word online. People get excited about it. It's an easy sell.

But here's the thing. Before you jump out there and start running ads, there are two things you want to do. Okay, two things.
Number one, you want to make sure your messaging is on point. Most people’s ads fail, not necessarily because of the targeting, not necessarily because of the funnel and all this different type of stuff, but the messaging is number one. Messaging is number one. Most people’s messaging is way off. They're attracting the type of clients they don't want to work with. They're really setting themselves up to lose before they even get started. So, number one, you want to make sure your messaging is tight. [02:02.6]

You want to get clear on what's the top 10 desires and aspirations of your ideal client. You want to know what's the top 10 struggles and challenges of your ideal client. You want to know what's an average day in the life of your client. What's the conversation that's going on in your ideal client's head right now? And you want to speak to that in your messaging and that's what's going to help you create very powerful copy, and it's going to help you create very powerful ads, whether that's videos or images as well. Okay? So, that's number one.

Number two. You want to have your numbers mapped out. For example, most people launch an ad to sell a book, right? Or to sell a $37 course, only you didn't think it because of something like that, right? And that's all they have and they wonder why they're not profitable because people don't think about costs of acquisition like, How much is it going to cost me to get a new client?

So, ideally you want to have your numbers set up where you have a high lifetime value for your client, so you can afford to invest more into advertising, because advertising isn't about spending less. It's about spending more, and the higher the lifetime value this client is, you can really ramp things up. [03:04.3]

That's why I love helping coaches create high-ticket offers where they're now charging $3,000 to $10,000 or more, so now they can dominate their niche. Because they’ve got a $5,000 offer, they can stand to invest $1,000 or $1,500 or $2,500 or whatever to get a new client, because even if they paid 2,500 to get a client in ads, which they most likely won't if they do it right, especially following the Paid Ad Playbook that we give you for checking out the show, you won't have to worry about that.

But you can literally flip your money by saying, Okay, I invested. Every time I spend 1,500 on ads, I get a $5,000 client. If you can exchange 1,500 for 5,000, how many times would you do that? And once you understand how you can put a dollar into ads and you get a multiple, you'll never have to worry about money again.

So, before you go out there launching ads, you want to do those two things. Number one, get your messaging on point. That's first and foremost, okay? Number two, you want to make sure your offer is at a price point where you can afford to invest in ads and then get a multiple, so ideally you want to have a high-ticket offer. Okay? [04:00.9]
